Igorot

Inhabiting a rugged, mountain region in Northern Luzon are a collective of 6 ethno-linguistic tribes which include the Kalinga, Apayao, and Kankany. The people of these tribes are collectively known as the Igorot (or Mountain) people based on the region they are settled in. Due to practically being untouched from Spanish colonization, the Igorot people still practice centuries old traditions honoring a number of household pagan gods. Dance to them is seen as a form of prayer and worship to appease the gods for good fortune and luck for the benefit of the tribal community.
